Phantastic Board for the wohle Montain :-)

Hello, I've been riding the Skunke Ape 170UW for two seasons now and I'm extremely satisfied. With my 6.8 (206cm) and 265Ibs (120kg), combined with Mondo 33 feet (US 15.5), there was no other board for me. I ride in Duck Stance with +18 / -9 and only have about 2.5cm overhang on my Boots. That's no problem at all! I'm good in midfield, not great, but not bad either. I manage blue and red slopes well, I keep away from the black ones... The board definitely made me a better rider! Tight curves are no problem at all, switch is always possible and the board is even suitable for very high speeds. With my weight, I get a blast and get almost all skiers. No shatter, just a hard edge in the snow! Thanks to Lib Tech for building a board for us big boys! Greetings from Germany, Martin

Get it

I’m 6’4” 250lbs with a sz13 and this is the first board I’ve owned that I haven’t had to deal with washing out or toe drag on. Didn’t ride for years then moved out west and got back into it, this board had been a dream and I have progressed unbelievably fast on it. Ride it aggressively and it will never let you down, it blasts down the hill and will eat up anything you throw at it, pow, trees, groomers, ice, crud. It doesn’t matter the skunk ape just rips through, beginner or expert if you’re a big dude you won’t regret getting this board.

Skunk apes are wicked boards.

I had been riding a 162W skunk ape for about 8 years until i moved up to a birdman (170W). I have been riding lib tech boards for nearly 15 years now and i won't go back to riding anything else. They are way too responsive to even think of riding anything else. i know when my birdman dies on me i'll be buying myself a new Skunk ape for damn sure!!!

Great all-around big guy board

The 19/20 is my third Skunk Ape. I am 6', 235 lbs with size 13 boots 32's and ride with Union Force bindings. Over 25 years experience and avg. 30 to 40 days depending on the year. Been riding Libs for over 10 years and they have never stopped amazing me with their quality products and great customer service. Sadly my first Ape is had to be relegated to a wall hanger after snapping it dropping some cliffs in marginal snow conditions on the first day of the year. What can I say I was excited to get back to the office and put in some work. However with the dumps we got early season in California I was able to skip going to another early season board and break out the new one. And damn glad I did. Performs great in pow, the new one is a 169. Handles big cliff drops with much less effort than my original 2010 165 Ape and don't have to set the stance back on bigger powder days either. I like this because I tend to ride a lot of switch either landing or approaching hits or just cruising. This board can handle speed like no other and powers through the chop when things start to get a little heavier. It is a bit lighter than the older models, also have a 2017 169 Skunk Ape, but is definitely built for strength not lightness. I would like to have just a little more stiffness when trying to power out of big drops but it does provide the flex when you need it if you land low or over shoot into a swale so it's a catch 22. As far as groomers go the board will not be a limiting factor on your speed, if you can handle it it will get you there. No chatter at high speeds, holds an edge on any conditions, just watch out for someone cutting in front of you. Big guys at speeds these boards let you achieve can be dangerous for an unwary passerby. Don't ride the parks much anymore but when there are some large tabletops with lots of landing I feel more than confident dropping in and having plenty of pop and great responsiveness on landings. Also great for boardercross, doesn't hurt to have a little extra weight on the opponents. These board have exceeded my expectations and I congratulate the fine people at Lib Tech on another great product. You keep making them and I will proudly keep riding them.

169 skunk ape

Best board hands down. Made my riding experience perfection. I can carve this board and have complete control from the top of the mountain, they the park and in the slush. Crazy fast and maneuverable. Nice job Libtech! Cant wait to buy my wife a Libtech and let her feel how a snowboard should ride.
